Will this country star rediscover his passion for music when he meets a spunky small-town girl with a tragic past?

The trouble is that spending time with Liv feels like a good old-fashioned love song, and River Mackenzie can't get that stupid tune out of his head... or out of his heart.

Getting together with Mimi might be harder than Romeo sneaking in to see Juliet, and unfortunately, Hudson knows exactly how that turned out.

She’s his heart... he just doesn’t know it yet. He’s the one who created the monster that ruined her sister’s happiness. Now, can he forgive himself and win her love before it’s too late?

How can "Little Miss Harvest Ranch" sing about love when she guards her elusive heart so jealously? But guess who isn't terrified of anything? Nash Slade. And this reckless cowboy is way too good at playing her fake boyfriend to the crowds.

As Emily gets ready to hit the stage, they're both about to face the performance of their lives... especially if they think that they can fool anyone into believing that what they have isn't real.

You've read about all the Slade brothers... but what about the one you've grown to... uh hate? When it comes to enemies, West has them in spades, but his worst enemy is himself. Nashville's bad boy has just hit rock bottom. Enter Lauren Garcia.

She's a goody-two-shoes, bible-toting daughter of a pastor. And if that wasn't bad enough, she's a snoopy journalistic reporter just dying to write her hit piece on his tycoon boss. West can't wait to make her hate him too, especially when he starts to fall for her.

She'll do anything to save her unborn baby from his influential father--a rich and powerful womanizer who ruthlessly tries to hunt her down. Porter needs to tame his wild ways and show her that he's the kind of man that she can trust before it's too late.

When trouble follows Cadence to Harvest Ranch, will she turn to the strength of the arms of a stranger or will she run again?

Shhh! Eva Trout has a heart of gold... but she'd like to keep that under wraps! When she comes to Harvest Ranch to meet her Fiance's family, Cole is floored. Sure, his brother is marrying the socialite for her money, but what does this stunning beauty possibly see in West?

And now West has the nerve to ask Cole to watch over his fiancee. Eva's a rich heiress worth billions, a charming and flirtatious influencer with her share of stalkers, what could possibly go wrong?

Sky swore that she'd never set eyes on that stormy Grey Bridges again! Imagine her surprise when she runs into that double-crossing, former Navy Seal at Harvest Ranch.

No worries. She'll stay strong against Grey's accidental charm. And if he wants to rekindle the embers of their past? Sure... as long as she makes him pay for breaking her heart.

Welcome to a town of second chances, tough cowboys, swoony romance, renewed hope, and endless love!

The Birth of Harvest Ranch

I never thought that I'd be writing cowboy romance--sure, I LOVED LOVED Young Riders growing up and longed to own a ranch someday, possibly just full of dogs and chickens because that's all the animals I know anything about (and yes, this is still an ongoing dream), but I hadn't entertained the idea until a group of author friends approached me with the idea of doing a series together.

This is the reason that my books 1-7 are actually books 12, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26.

The plan was this--we'd all write our own standalone books, but they'd be set in the town of Harvest Ranch where our characters would buy feed from the same stores and brush past the same characters and attend the same town activities. My friends even went as far as to calendar out events in our world and map out the town to divide out the land to all of us authors.

It felt like an intense game of playing dolls and I LOVED it! Of course, I joined a little later and got the land further out from the map, and I also got the stores on the second and third stories of buildings, but falling into a world that was already alive made it all the more realistic to me.

My first story happened because Lucy McConnell wanted to know if there was anyone in the town who might need a donation of clothes and was having a hard time financially--she preferably wanted a single mother. Then boom! I was writing a character that had more depth than I'd previously made. That's when I realized how exciting it was to do tropes and life-situations that I'd never delved into before.

Another friend in the series had beehives and I thought I'd throw those into my story, just to give her characters a shout-out... but she informed me that these were special beehives and they couldn't have cross-contamination with other crops and/ or orchards. Boom! That's when the Slade Ranch was born... and the five brothers. I hadn't really imagined that I'd tell ALL their stories, but after "Grey Sky," I knew that they each deserved their own happy ending... well, "needed anyway"--but... that's another story.

My author friends also happen to be cowgirls themselves, and so with their help and with the help of my niece (who is also a cowgirl in her own right), I was able to make sure that I wasn't going too far off the rails with my city-girl ways. A ton of research went into this!

And then something else happened to me while I was writing this--COVID hit, and I began to realize how much the presence of God means to me; and so, even though many of my stories are meant to be family-friendly and/ or align with my values, these books dig deep into the meaning of life and family connection and also explore the themes of hope, faith, and forgiveness. My writing skills were challenged in a way that I never thought possible because I was writing about subjects that I cared deeply about. It added meaning to the fun and humor that I also hope to instill in my writing.

All in all, writing this series was an amazing experience that I hope you will share with me as you read the tales of two families, who defy the odds in every way--ones who keep their good humor while facing heartbreak; ones, who do the right thing in a storm of trouble, adventure, and danger. But most importantly, they live and they love!

And that's the whole story! Thanks for connecting!
