Everyone wants to find Eden’s Paradise, except me. Aiden Hunter's a southern hottie that's rescued me so many times that it's starting to get embarrassing. To be honest, I'd be more grateful if I didn't suspect him of putting me in danger in the first place—a danger that keeps growing, the closer I get to him.
Because the only way to find this treasure is to join up with that bad boy, though now I'm questioning who's bad? Who's good? Strangely, the mystery might very well lie behind a pair of beautiful hazel eyes and a husky drawl. After all, Paradise was never meant to be found alone.
Inseparable. That's what Jessie and I are... or used to be. The years have a way of distorting the truth and digging up family skeletons that are best left alone. The very thing that brought us together is tearing us apart
And I've had enough. If Jessie wants to pick up that war that our families started all those years ago with that treasure, then I'm going to finish it... even find that buried loot myself and do what I do best, run! If Jessie tries to catch me? The storm that blew out the sky the first night we kissed is going to be nothing to what's going to happen between us!
Believe me, when the hottest actor in Filipino cinema invites you on a romantic jaunt in one of his fancy-smancy billionaire helicopters, you’re not going to say, “No.” Especially when that star is the bad boy, Andres Butchayo. Oh, and did I mention I just got dumped? Yeah, move over! I'm going.
But when that same helicopter gets hijacked by some treasure-hunting idiots, I start to question my sanity. I’m determined to prove once and for all that I’m not the airhead everyone thinks I am—even if it means deciphering clues with a heartbreaker I trust less and less, all while I fall for him more and more.

About
"True Treasures" behind-the-scenes
The Birth of "True Treasures"
When some people go hiking, they're looking at the breathtaking vistas and listening to the happy song of birds, they're feeling their heart pound beneath them as they conquer mountains. And I... I am weaving tales in my head about the treasures hiding deep in the earth and bad guys lurking in every corner as well as love... definitely love.
My sister, Jacqueline, and our good friend, Tanya, explored everywhere in Utah for these past few summers, and despite their complaints that I was out to kill them, we forged some memories that will last forever... especially since I memorialized a few of them in my novels. Ha!
And who can forget Hunter? Oh, Hunter! He almost ran me over with his bike and we exchanged a flirtatious smile... after I screamed and scrambled up the side of the hill to escape his tires. His name wasn't really Hunter because we didn't get that far in our relationship to find out those kinds of details, but my sister decided that it was because how manly of a name was that? So sure, he became my first hero... and I added a hot southern drawl, because I'm dreaming already, right?
On the road to one of our hiking destinations--this time in Glacier, Montana--my friend read my first book aloud. Wow, I wished I'd filmed some of that! Our lives turned full circle as she read the adventure inspired by our adventures.
From there, I went on to write the second book in the series. I dragged my poor friend, Lucy McConnell to Salem, Mass to check out the setting for this next book. Let's be honest, I go a little bonkers with my research, but she was all for it. We visited the oldest candy store in America (which had an AMAZING back story about a shipwrecked family) and we connected all of our ancestors to the witch trials (which happened to be the witches, the accusers, AND the magistrates); we visited downtown which was deserted on the off-season for tourists (we'd secured cheap winter tickets and experienced the warmest December there that I'm sure has ever existed). We toured the witch house and looked longingly at all the rest of the museums that were closed because it wasn't the peak Halloween season. Either way, you can be sure I looked for and FOUND clues everywhere!
In my second book, I set up the possibility of seven more books in this series, but I dropped the idea for a bit while doing other projects... until last month, I was reminded again how there is nothing like the excitement of a treasure hunt, which I got to experience for myself... with the official Utah Treasure Hunt.
This summer, I thought, "Hey, I write about treasure hunts, let me try my hand at this... plus, who couldn't use the loot to dig out of debt?" Amirite?! So, I dragged along my niece at one point, and seeing she was WAY too embarrassed to poke around with me, I tugged my fearless nephew into it and we had some good times... trying to solve the puzzle, and eating ice cream afterward to soothe our disappointment after yet another failed mission AGAIN AND AGAIN as the treasure continued to stay in our hearts--maddeningly so! Ha!
Even so, the hunt drove into me a need to write this third book... and more, many, many more. The material keeps coming, and I hope to experience more of the beauty and adventure of exploring this world around me.
So here's to the inspiration! Here's to the excitement of the past crashing into the present, and the opportunity to weave this history into my novels. Here's to the adventures that inspire me (moose, skunks, hyperactive squirrels). Here's to hope and crushed hopes and building hope again. Here's to the friendships and memories that come from good times... and bad times! Here's to the laughter of getting out of breath and running into cute guys and getting caught in the rain. Here's to further adventures and more dreaming--lots and lots of dreaming!
And that's the whole story! Thanks for connecting!
